After Black Swan, Mila Kunis vows never to dance again

Black Swan may be one of this year’s most successful movies, earning nods from various award-giving bodies, but one of its lead stars pledged not to dance in this lifetime again.

Mila Kunis, who played the role of a passionate and neurotic rival ballerina to Natalie Portman’s character in the ballet-based thriller, found the training for the flick as incredibly intense. Suffering a lot of injuries and pain from wearing specialist shoes, the actress claimed the finished movie would be the last time she would ever flaunt the ballet skills that she learned.

“I had never danced in my life. I trained for four months, seven days a week, five hours a day. I had one day off on my birthday. I lost 20 pounds. I tore a ligament. I dislocated my shoulder. I have two scars on my back. And it was worth every minute,” said the 27-year-old actress.

“But I will never dance again… I was like, ‘Well – I wear heels; I can do this.’ I was wrong. Christian Louboutins are uncomfortable, but I screamed the first time I put on a pointe shoe.

“It’s great that the performance has been captured on film, because I will never put on those pointe shoes again.”
