‘Can’t be Tamed’ goes platino
Posted by Maddox Elms in MusicThe album isn’t hitting the record bars yet, but the single is already topping the charts.
Can’t be Tamed, which has stirred up different reactions recently perhaps due to the fact that the 17-year-old is showing off her sexy side in the music video, has crossed the sales landmark in Spain. Hence, Miley Cyrus received a platinum record at the Villamagna Hotel in Madrid yesterday.

Miley Cyrus goes platino in Madrid, Spain.
Dolled up in trendy black slim pants, a black-and-grey batik print halter top, she accessorized her get-up with black Christian Louboutin ankle boots. Multiple necklaces, bangles and bracelets also completed her look as the Can’t be Tamed platino, or platinum, recording artist.
The single, from her third studio album of the same title, was released May 18 by Hollywood Records. Miley teamed up with Grammy-award winning producer John Shanks (Celine Dion, Kelly Clarkson), and her long time collaborators Tim James and Antonina Armato (Seven Things and See You Again). James and Armato produced and co-wrote Can’t Be Tamed with Miley.
Robert Hales directed the Can’t be Tamed music video, which premiered on May 4.
Wearing $25,000 silver-scale corset and dress made from 2,400 metal pieces and peacock feathers, the video opens with Miley Cyrus in a cage as an Aves Cyrus: a bird of rare species, being unveiled to the world for the first time in a museum.
In the following scenes, the fierce video shows Miley escape from her cage and trash the museum. Quite an effective metaphor for the way she emerges from her teeny-bopper Hannah Montana image into a matured and sexy pop star.
The album is slated to be out on June 22.
