Chaz Bono: Topic of Controversy?

People are using social media now to lash out at stars who they do not feel deserve the roles and appearances that they do actually get. Some people may use Twitter in order to express disagreement with the lifestyle choices of a Carson Kressley who has been cast on “Dancing With The Stars” in their latest season. Carson is an openly gay designer who happens to make television appearances all of the time. Carson has appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show numerous times and there are more fans of “Queer Eye ” than some people may be comfortable admitting. Queer Eye is still a very popular show on Bravo! People who truly enjoy the arts and different forms of fashion are likely to enjoy different shows on Bravo!

The fact that Chaz Bono is willing to appear on the show has also been a lighting rod of controversy in some circles. Chaz Bono happens to be a transgendered man. Cher, the illustrious singer and actress would probably just tell people to mind their own business if they do not like the idea of her son appearing on Dancing With The Stars. Chaz Bono agreed to appear on the show in order to potentially educate some people about the transgender community.

On a personal note, I support anyone’s right not to watch something if that is what they chose to do. A star like Cher is someone who has never shied away from controversy and she certainly hasn’t shied away from criticizing people who happen to profit from the different forms of controversy. Chaz Bono is someone who has also been exploited by the tabloids. Chaz had a lot of controversy surrounding him when he first identified as a lesbian. Chaz certainly had to open up his life to the camera when he was going through the surgery to become a man. The Dancing with The Stars controversy ultimately is no big deal for Chaz Bono.
