Cook and Lambert ‘No Show’ on AI Finale stirs false controversy
Posted by Hugh Gore in CelebrityWhile the American Idol finale was festooned with the music industry jewels, season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert and season 7 winner David Cook were absent that Wednesday night. The two have since explained why they didn’t show up.

Adam Lambert has quashed reports that he was snubbed from the American Idol finale, stating he missed the show to ‘rest his voice’ ahead of his Glam Nation tour.
Lambert, who came second on the last season of Idol, took to Twitter to deny reports that he had been dropped from Wednesday’s two-hour results show because he failed to turn up to rehearsals – stating that doctors had advised him not to perform.
Lambert tweeted: “Would have loved 2 have been at the Idol Finale to wish Simon Cowell farewell and support the finalists, but this tour for my fans is my priority.”
Meanwhile, previous winner David Cook also missed Lee DeWyze take home the Idol title due to a previous engagement. He had a charity event in Kansas City, his rep told Access Hollywood.
Cook was the only “Idol” winner not to take part in the “Together We Are One” performance that included past Idol champs Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia, Carrie Underwood, Jordin Sparks, Taylor Hicks and Kris Allen.
