Gossip Girl’s Crawford faces charges for pot possession

According to authorities, Gossip Girl heartthrob Chace Crawford was arrested early Friday morning in Plano, Texas for possession of less than two ounces of marijuana.

Police spokesman Rick McDonald says 24-year-old Christopher Chace Crawford was caught in a parked vehicle shortly after midnight. He was booked, but posted bail and was later released. He faces a maximum of up to 180 days in jail and a $2,000 fine if convicted of the misdemeanor charge.

Crawford plays the hunk Nate Archibald, who lives the life of the privileged on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, on the CW hit drama Gossip Girl. He’s lined to star in an upcoming remake of the 1984 film Footloose. He will also appear in Twelve, a film based on Nick McDonell’s novel, with 50 Cent this summer.

It is interesting to note that in the said indie flick, Crawford will portray the role of White Mike, a teenage dropout who sells marijuana to his ex-classmates. Life is a scheming irony, isn’t it?

He has been one of Gossip Girl’s breakout stars, named as Teen Choice Awards winner for actor in a TV drama last year. People magazine has even listed Crawford as its hottest bachelor of last summer.
