And so upon a series of talks between the owners and the Jackson family, it seems like things are veering to the positive side. King of Pop’s fans all over the world are expected to get limited access to the said cemetery in Glendale, California to mark the anniversary, according to the Los Angeles Times.
“We understand that Forest Lawn is working with the Jackson family for some kind of commemoration,” Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz claimed. “We will be working closely with Forest Lawn to ensure the safety of those who want to pay their respects to Michael Jackson while ensuring the safety of others who are coming to the cemetery to pay respects to their loved ones.”
However, it has been cleared that the fans will only be allowed to set foot on the grounds of the cemetery, not into the Great Mausoleum where Jackson, who died June 25 after suffering cardiac arrest at his Hollywood mansion, was buried in September. Meanwhile, discussions are ongoing about how close they will be permitted to get to the mausoleum.
“Basically, they will be viewing it from a distance,” Lorenz said.
