John Lithgow Schools Readers On Acting.

Actor John Lithgow is out with a new book. The book is titled “Drama: An Actor’s Education” Lithgow is trying to promote the idea of becoming a successfully trained actor again in my view. He has not specifically said this, but you get the sense during interviews for the book “Drama” that he is getting tired of watching some of the poorly trained talent out there trying to make it big, Lithgow is trying to prove to people that acting can and should be considered an art.

John Lithgow talks about his relationship with his father and their relationship as fellow actors. Lithgow seems to yearn for the concept of more people getting involved with their local community theater. Stephen Colbert and John Lithgow had an interesting interview regarding Lithgow’s book on the Colbert Report where Lithgow jokingly called out Stephen Colbert for not reading his book.
John Lithgow has made appearances on the Colbert Report before. He was able to perform a press release that was put out by former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich’s presidential campaign addressing the issues regarding some changes that were coming within the campaign. John Lithgow certainly showed off his acting skills as he was reading the press release. A trained actor would be ready to highlight the emotion that was put in the press release.

Lithgow has made groundbreaking appearances on film, on stage and in television. Lithgow was in Raising Cain and I still believe that to be one of his best, underrated performances.

Lithgow also speaks with pride about growing up in the Cleveland area. Cleveland has some wonderful parts in and around it, the city needs some positive press. People should speak and write with this kind of candor about their careers and about their lives. Lithgow is a noted writer of children’s books as well, the man truly knows what he is doing.
