Miss Philippines 2010 Answer Was a Major Major Disaster

Miss Philippines was the highest rated contestant of Miss Universe 2010 but her answer at the final question squashed her Miss Universe dreams. She had everything going for her – she received the highest votes on the MUO (Miss Universe Organization) polls, owned the swimsuit competition, and outclassed the other contestants in the evening gown event . But nothing could prepare the millions of viewers around the world as she opened her mouth and answered William Baldwin’s trivial question:
What is one big mistake that you have made in your life and what did you do to make it right?
She tried stalling for a bit by greeting the crowd and the rest was history, the Miss Philippines 2010 answer was:
“Thank you so much sir for that wonderful question. Good evening ladies and gentlemen. Good evening Las Vegas! You know what sir in my 22 years of existence I can say there is nothing major major, I mean problem that I have done in my life because I am very confident with my family with the love that they are giving to me. So thank you so much that I am here!” Venus Raj of the Philippines said.
The term “Major Major” is apparently a local slang that are frequently used by local gay guys which was supposed to mean “extravagant”, “outlandish” or simply used to describe something that is over the top extreme. She pretty much told every body that she’s living a perfect life and has yet to commit a “Major Major” mistake. Unfortunately, the Asian beauty committed her biggest mistake last night and will come home to her home country to try and make things right. Venus Raj was reportedly overwhelmed with nervousness but looks at the fiasco positively. She coyly told a local television network : “At least ‘major major’ brought honor to the country somehow.”

Miss Phippipnes should have won also in 1999, but she blew the question then also. Maybe they should teach them on verbal etiquette and intelligent answers not nonsense.
I don’t see anything wrong with her answer. Her answer came from her heart that her family love her so much that she does not have any major problems, so she was supported and loved by her family. So what if she said major 2 times. The judges are just so unfair. At least, she was able to speak well, rather than using an interpreter. Other contestants only use others to talk for themselves, they even win the title. So what’s this mess?
Bottom line, nothing is wrong with her answer. She deserve to be crowned Miss Universe. The title is for her.
So much for this politics!!!
