Shockwave

New developments come out for the third Transformers film. First off, the confirmation from director Michael Bay that Shockwave would play the major villain in Transformers 3.

Bay says “the movie is more of a mystery. It ties in what we know as history growing up as kids with what really happened. As a trilogy, it really ends. It could be rebooted again, but I think it has a really killer ending.”  And this killer ending will involve the confirmed villain, Shockwave, the robot cyclops, turned laser cannon, who became the dictator of Cybertron after other Autobots and Decepticons made their journey to Earth. He is expected to menace the flick’s protagonists with his single robotic eye and laser-gun-equipped robo-arm.

Shockwave has evolved through quite a few generations of the television and comic book series, but his original character was the Decepticons’ military operations commander. Shockwave was of exceptional intelligence, and albeit his ability and power only come in second to Megatron’s army, he was always trying to find a way to overthrow Megatron.

Moreover, Bay has revealed that the last film in the Transformers trilogy will make use of 3-D. So with a new bombshell on the cast, and a new villain on the loose, this movie will surely be a hit come summer 2011.
