PCD’s Scherzinger grabs Dancing With The Stars mirror-ball

Pussycat Dolls frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger along with partner Derek Hough took home Dancing With The Stars much-coveted mirror-ball trophy in the season finale on Tuesday, beating closest rival Olympic figure skater Evan Lysacek and his partner, Anna Trebunskaya.
Consistently dominating the entire 10th season of ABC’s highly-rated dance competition, dancing to the win through the combined scores from judges and votes from viewers, Scherzinger said “This has been probably the greatest reward personally, this whole personal journey. I’ve learned so much about myself. I’ve learned so much about Derek Hough – he’s made me a better person through this.”
Lysacek and Scherzinger each danced a tango early in the episode and garnered effusive praises from the judges. Carrie Ann Inaba called Lysacek’s performance “perfect,” and Scherzinger’s “like a beautiful masterpiece come to life.”
ESPN sportscaster Erin Andrews and her professional partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy were dismissed earlier in the show. Back to back performances by the season’s finalists and past contestants also graced the season finale.
Astronaut Buzz Aldrin danced in a bedazzled space suit that host Tom Bergeron joked was from “the NASA Liberace collection” whilst “The Bachelor” Jake Pavelka danced with his betrothed, Vienna Girardi. Actors Shannen Doherty and Aiden Turner also returned to the dance floor.
