Producer Laurie David denies VP Al Gore affair

Reports have it that the vice president’s breakup of his marriage to Tipper Gore was the result of Al Gore’s two-year affair with Laurie David, the producer of An Inconvenient Truth, the VP’s Oscar-winning documentary in 2006. However, David claimed these reports untrue through her agent Dorian Karchmar’s statement to People: “This report is completely, patently false.”

Moreover, the activist/author/producer who had once been tied to Larry David, the creator of Curb Your Enthusiasm and Seinfeld, for 14 years, told Time that “The rumor is completely and totally untrue. I adore Al and Tipper and consider them part of my family. I’m in a committed relationship and couldn’t be happier.”

David, who has rubbed elbows with Hollywood heavyweights since she worked in the entertainment industry, has produced high-profile documentaries aiming to raise awareness for environmental issues, hence having her dubbed as the “Bono of climate change” by Vanity Fair. However, she achieved notoriety for An Inconvenient Truth which featured Al Gore’s campaign to save the planet from global warming.

Larry and Laurie David split on 2007 on grounds of irreconcilable differences. Meanwhile, Al and Tipper Gore broke up just this June with their friends saying that the couple had ‘grown apart’.
