Tim Allen Scores with Audiences as Mike Baxter

There are many people out there who are very excited about the success of Tim Allen’s new show Last Man Standing. There are many people out there who were worried that the new show would not live up to the high bar that ABC had set for it, I would like to have heard from Tim Allen personally on whether or not he truly expected the show to do well.
An information technology professional would be able to tell you about whether or not the shift in television viewing habits to websites has had a great impact on a show like Last Man Standing. The fact remains that the genre has certainly changed since the days of Home Improvement.

Tim Allen certainly had a successful career in film and with his stand up career, but the fact that he has one of the highest rated shows on Tuesday nights in 2012 Is quite an accomplishment in my book. Some would say that it would be more impressive if the cast of Last Man Standing were able to compete in the ratings with all of the different Thursday night shows out there, but that Thursday lineup is so brutal.

Hector Elizondo may be a bit of a break out star on the show. Elizondo is the person that Tim Allen’s character confides in. Mike Baxter is the name of Tim Allen’s character on the show and he does with Ed Alzate (Elizondo’s character) the trials and tribulations of raising a teenage daughter and making sure that his family has some of the same opportunities that he had when he was a kid. I personally like the character of Mike Baxter and I don’t think the character forces Allen to stray to far out of his element. It is interesting to see that Allen still seems to enjoy acting and reportedly still enjoys the dynamics of a sitcom.
