Tom Cruise will be seen on the big screen again and this time, as a rock ‘n’ roll god.
The actor, who is famed for his roles in action flicks, has signed up to star in the movie adaptation of hit musical ‘Rock of Ages’ as the ageing musician Stacee Jaxx. In preparation for his role, Cruise has been taking voice lessons and studying rock songs of the 80s, which will be featured in the movie’s plotline, so he gets things right.
Director Adam Shankman believes the 48-year-old ‘Top Gun’ star is going to impress everyone with his portrayal in the musical.
In an interview, Shankman said, “I think we’re going to see him every drop the rock ‘n’ roll god! I’m very excited. He’s so committed to doing it. He’s pouring himself in this part in a way I’ve never had an actor do … it’s pretty intense.”
Anne Hathaway is set to play the lead female role, Sherrie, in the movie. He also confirmed that Russell Brand is in negotiations to join the ‘Rock of Ages’ cast as the manager of The Bourbon rock club, Lonny. Alec Baldwin, according to him, is in talks to play Lonny’s boss, Dennis.
“We are talking to Alec Baldwin and there may be some Russell Brand. I can only say at this point that there may be, because the deals aren’t closed.”

Sorry to see that this is getting a big-budget movie treatment. They’re going to butcher it.
