Twilighters swoon as Eclipse premieres in Los Angeles

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse premiered Thursday in Nokia Theater in Los Angeles with fans, mostly from the female category, screaming out and about bloodsucking hunk Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), werewolf hottie Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) and mortal beauty Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart).
Many of the fans in attendance had camped outside the theater for almost a week just to ensure they were able to see all their favorite stars.
Summit Entertainment brought in a new director to Eclipse as in the two previous Twilight movies, this time it’s David Slade, who is best known for horror flicks. Some Twi-hards worried that Slade would turn the film into a dark and bloody tale, however, fans who have seen it say love remains in the air in Eclipse, which is expected to be among the highest grossing films of 2010.
Love triangles remain a staple of Hollywood flicks, which is surely what Summit studio has on its mind as it seeks to keep up the box office momentum of the film. Twilight made $409 million at global box offices in 2008 with director Catherine Hardwicke, and a year later, its sequel New Moon by filmmaker Chris Weitz earned $710 million.
