Round 3 - At this point Shields was very tired and he can barely even throw a punch. At 2:00 Martin Kampmann actually managed to get a dominant position and pound away at Jake Shields’ face. He will soon realize that this is a mistake because at 55 seconds left Shields locked in a body triangle that trapped Kampmann on the ground. Funny thing was, Jake Shields was so tired that the best he could come up with are short rabbit punches that barely even hurt Martin Kampmann’s face.
As the bell rang and signified the end of the round Kampmann muttered: “I have no damage”. Meamwhile, Shields looked drained as hell and can barely even raise his hands up. Shields later won via split decision (30-27, 29-28).
